Welcome to the official site of the Danish RJ club. The site is kept in Danish, but
you may still enjoy the photos and drawings of the RJ 85.
The RJ85 is a
long-keeled swedish boat designed in the early 70'ties by Rolf Jacobson. It is a descendant
of the long line of Skærgårdskrydsere (translates as "Archipelago Cruisers"), a swedish boattype
known for being long and narrow and designed for costal waters. The RJ 85 handles very well both in light
wind and heavy weather.
The boat became very popular since you could buy a factory-made hull and do the interior yourself.
Due to this, most RJ85's differs both in interior and rigging. In Sweden approximately 500 was
built, and in Denmark a further 50 or so was built.
